What You'll Need
- Your body. Just show up. We'll offer modifications and you are always welcome to take what rest you need!
- A mat. A thick Yoga mat will work for Pilates, but some people prefer the squishy ones. We have a few studio mats, but it's always best to have your own!
- For Yoga, a block, a blanket, and a strap are always nice (and encouraged.) If you have a braided towel and magic circle, bring 'em along to Pilates mat class. PLEASE DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PROPS.
- Time. Give yourself a few moments to set up before class. Get to know each other and allow time to leave troubles and stress in the parking lot. Group Classes are about 50 minutes long.
- Curiosity and a sense of humor. Arrive ready to test your movement limits and explore new movement. Smile. Laugh. Enjoy the movement and the beautiful souls around you.
Etiquette
Please do...
- register in advance for classes. Space is limited and offered in priority to registered guests.
- arrive on-time (i.e., a few minutes early) to class. Late-comers are a distraction to those in practice and may interrupt valuable concentration and self awareness practice.
- turn off or silence phones. Guests will be asked to quiet ringing phones during class. Don't be that guy.
- avoid wearing strong scents to class.
- rest and/or modify your practice as you need.
- place your things not needed for practice in cubbies provided.
Please don't...
- leave your phone ringer on or bring your phone to your mat.
- push yourself into pain. This is a no pain/no pain studio.
- compare yourself to other practitioners. You don't know their story and they don't know yours. You are here for you.
- bring additional people to private sessions without registering them or notifying the studio well in advance.
- hold extensive private conversations during class.
- think for one moment that you aren't a valued member of this community. You are appreciated!
